Hi, I'm Cyrus!

I'm interested in making biological systems easier to engineer, by making software tools and models to help engineers understand them. I think understanding biological systems will be crucial to creating a sustainable and healthy human presence that can co-exist with the Earth and its ecosystems.

I'm currently a PhD candidate in Bioengineering at Stanford University, in the Covert lab. Currently I'm working on improving how we parametrize chemical reaction networks and regulatory networks in biology by using convex optimization.

In the future, I'd like to make predictive models of cells in the same way we model the behaviour of planes, spacecraft and electrical circuits. Probably through a startup. I think life is more predictable than we think!
